The federal government has unveiled an ambitious plan to transform Islamabad into a world-class city by launching major development projects and attracting foreign investment.

The decisions were taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters, where officials reviewed ongoing and future projects in the capital.

As part of the new strategy, the government will facilitate the construction of five-star hotels through joint ventures with international firms.

Authorities will also introduce a zero-tax hotel policy to encourage both local and foreign investors to participate in the city’s growing hospitality sector.

The meeting also reviewed progress on a five-star hotel project being developed in collaboration with the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI).

Officials stressed the need to accelerate work and ensure timely completion.

To improve governance and transparency, the government has decided to conduct a comprehensive survey of Islamabad’s land and properties through the Survey of Pakistan.

A dedicated marketing team will also be appointed to promote upcoming auctions and maximize investor participation.

In addition, authorities approved the establishment of a central control room for capital emergency services within the Safe City Islamabad system to enhance response capabilities.

Officials said the initiative aims to upgrade urban infrastructure, provide international-standard facilities, and position Islamabad as a prime destination for investment and tourism.
