The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will begin construction of two new underpasses in Islamabad next month to improve traffic flow and public convenience.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the decision while chairing a meeting at the CDA headquarters to review ongoing and upcoming development projects in the federal capital. The minister said authorities will start work on the Kashmir Chowk Underpass and the Faisal Mosque Underpass next month.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi expressed strong displeasure over the absence of a fully functional Emergency 1122 system in Islamabad. He directed officials to establish the Capital Emergency Services on an emergency basis and begin work on four new emergency centers after completing the required legal formalities.
The meeting also reviewed proposals to increase the CDA’s permanent revenue. Mohsin Naqvi directed officials to develop a sustainable revenue model to strengthen the authority’s financial position alongside its development agenda.
He also instructed officials to complete the Expressway Service Road Project within the approved timeline. Officials briefed the meeting on the progress of several mega development projects and future planning for Islamabad.
