A minor dispute over chutney for a plate of samosas turned into a heated argument between a waiter and a police officer at the Islamabad District Courts, with a video of the incident quickly going viral on social media.

According to reports, the incident took place at the court’s cafeteria when a police officer on duty asked the waiter to add chutney to his samosa plate. The waiter allegedly refused, saying the Rs. 120 samosa plate did not include chutney and that adding it would increase the price to Rs. 150.

The disagreement soon escalated into a verbal exchange, with both the waiter and the police officer arguing in front of lawyers, court staff, litigants, and other visitors.

The viral video shows several uniformed police officers, some carrying weapons, gathered around an outdoor table as the argument unfolds in the busy court premises.

Following the incident, several lawyers called for the cafeteria to be shut down, alleging that it charges arbitrary prices to customers, including police personnel and members of the public visiting the courts.

Lawyers claimed that police officers and litigants regularly rely on the cafeteria for meals but are often charged inconsistent rates without a clear pricing policy.

The incident has drawn widespread attention online, with many social media users debating the cafeteria’s pricing practices and the conduct of those involved. Neither the Islamabad administration nor the cafeteria management has issued an official statement on the matter so far.
