The Federal Directorate of Education has announced Eid ul Azha and summer holidays for educational institutions operating under its ambit in Islamabad.
According to an official notification issued on May 20, all institutions working under the Federal Directorate of Education will observe holidays from May 25 to July 31, 2026. Classes will resume on August 3, 2026.
The decision applies to Islamabad Model Schools and Colleges, including Ex-FG colleges, in both urban and rural areas of the capital.
Despite the closure for students, heads of institutions and administrative staff will continue to observe official working hours from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm during the summer break. They have also been directed to manage a number of academic and administrative activities during the vacation period.
The notification said institutions must ensure student participation in a two-week Summer Fiesta beginning June 15, with further details to be shared after Eid holidays.
To complete the syllabus on time, coaching classes for Grades IX and X will be arranged in each institution during June and July through engaged faculty.
These sessions may also be conducted through the Digital Hub Connected Classroom system, with live classes expected in June and recorded sessions in July.
The notice further stated that names for teacher training sessions must be communicated by May 22, and nominated teachers will be required to attend.
Meanwhile, classes for undergraduate students enrolled in BS and ADP programs will continue according to the academic schedule.
Institutions have also been instructed to carry out repair and maintenance work, along with stock checking, during the summer vacation.
