Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has confirmed today that he is embarking on a diplomatic tour of Islamabad, Muscat, and Moscow.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Araghchi said the purpose of his visits is to coordinate closely with partner countries on bilateral relations and hold consultations on key regional developments.
A short while ago, he also discussed this matter with Field Marshal Asim Munir and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The development comes after Pakistan’s extensive efforts to facilitate dialogue between Tehran and Washington through indirect channels.
Following important discussions with Pakistan’s mediation team, a second round of US–Iran peace talks in Islamabad is now more likely, sources added.
Sources further added that a US logistics and security team is already present in the federal capital to support the upcoming negotiations process.
It bears mentioning that the current US–Iran ceasefire situation is not fixed with a clear “end date” anymore.
It is fluid and has already been extended beyond its original timeline after President Donald Trump announced an extension to the no-fight situation on April 22.
