Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to return to Pakistan following his visit to Oman and ahead of his planned trip to Russia, according to Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
A portion of his delegation has already returned to Tehran after holding discussions in Islamabad to seek further guidance on post-war diplomatic matters.
The remaining members are expected to rejoin Araghchi in Islamabad today.
Earlier, Araghchi held high-level bilateral consultations in Pakistan’s capital before heading to Muscat on Saturday.
During his brief stay in Islamabad, he met with Pakistan’s top leadership, including Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Araghchi confirmed his multi-country tour, stating that his visits to Islamabad, Muscat, and Moscow are aimed at enhancing diplomatic coordination with key regional partners. He also stressed that relations with neighboring countries remain a central pillar of Iran’s foreign policy.
