Riyadh Air has expanded its operations in Pakistan with the launch of flights to Lahore, days after starting service to Islamabad.
The Saudi airline’s inaugural flight RX-676 arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport from Riyadh on Tuesday evening.
The airline will operate three flights a week between Riyadh and Lahore, adding another direct air connection between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The flight was welcomed with a traditional water salute by the Fire and Rescue Services of the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA). A ribbon-cutting and cake-cutting ceremony was later held at the International Departure Lounge to mark the launch.
The Lahore service comes after Riyadh Air entered the Pakistani market through Islamabad on August 14. Its inaugural flight RX-660 arrived at Islamabad International Airport from Riyadh.
The PAA welcomed Riyadh Air’s expansion to Lahore and expressed support for the airline’s operations in Pakistan, saying the new route would strengthen air links and continued cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
