Huawei has unveiled the Nova 16 series in China with four models. The Nova 16 Ultra sits at the top of the lineup and brings a high-end camera setup, a large battery, fast charging support, and Huawei’s latest software experience.

The Huawei Nova 16 Ultra features a 6.84-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The screen comes with Kunlun Glass protection and supports up to 6,000 nits of peak local brightness. Huawei has placed the fingerprint scanner on the right side of the phone, built into the power button.

The back panel includes a camera island wrapped in vegan leather. The module has two large cutouts, which hold three rear cameras, a spectral sensor, and an LED flash. The phone also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Huawei will offer the Nova 16 Ultra in blue, white, and black color options.

The Nova 16 Ultra is powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 9010S chipset. This is the same chip that first appeared on the Pura 80 last year.

The phone also supports satellite communication in China. Users can send and receive text messages through Beidou satellites.

On the software side, the Nova 16 Ultra runs HarmonyOS 6.1 out of the box.

The main highlight of the Huawei Nova 16 Ultra is its rear camera system.

The phone has a 200MP RYYB main camera with a 1/1.28 inch sensor, f/1.8 aperture, and optical image stabilization.

Huawei has also added a 50MP telephoto camera with an 88mm equivalent focal length and 3.7x optical zoom. The third rear camera is a 50MP ultrawide macro lens with an f/2.2 aperture.

For selfies, the phone uses a 50MP front camera placed inside the pill-shaped cutout, along with a 1.5MP spectral sensor.

The Huawei Nova 16 Ultra packs a 7,000 mAh battery. It supports 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and up to 7.5W reverse wireless charging.

Pricing in China starts at $695 for the base model with 256GB storage. The top 1TB storage version costs $857.
