Honor has launched the Watch 6 with a monster 980mAh battery that can last up to 35 days under typical use.

Despite the massive battery size, the smartwatch keeps its premium features intact, including a lighter body, a brighter display, and improved health and sports-tracking features.

The Honor Watch 6 has a body made from recycled aluminium alloy with 316L stainless steel elements. It measures 46.5mm across, weighs 41g without the strap, and is 10.8mm thick.

By comparison, the Honor Watch 5 Ultra weighs 52g, measures 11.4mm thick and has a 480mAh battery. The Xiaomi Watch 5 has a 930mAh battery but weighs 56g and measures 12.3mm thick.

The Watch 6 features precision-crafted bevelled edges around its round 1.46-inch display. Honor calls the design the Racing Dashboard Design.

The screen can reach up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. Users can customise it with live photos and short videos lasting up to 10 seconds. The touchscreen also works with wet fingers.

The watch is available in Twilight Brown with a brown leather strap and Shadow Black with a black fluoroelastomer strap.

Honor has added wrist-twist gestures that allow users to silence alarms, manage calls, and skip songs without touching the display.

The Watch 6 carries an IP69 rating and can be used for swimming in pools and near beaches. However, it is not designed for diving.

The smartwatch supports more than 120 sports modes. Its Trail Running mode includes an AI coach that provides climbing and distance measurements.

Badminton tracking includes smash-speed reports, while football tracking provides heat and trajectory maps. Outdoor activities are tracked through dual-band GPS with support for six satellite constellations, including Galileo and BeiDou.

The watch also supports NFC payments through Mastercard and Visa.

The Quick Health Scan feature provides a health analysis at any time. Users also receive a daily health report each morning.

Honor says its IntelliSense system provides richer and more consistent signal collection than typical PPG sensors used for heart-rate and blood-oxygen monitoring.

The Honor Watch 6 runs the company’s proprietary MagicOS rather than Google’s Wear OS.

It is compatible with Android 9.0 or later and iOS 15.1 or later. The watch includes 4GB of storage, which can be used to store maps.

The Honor Watch 6 has a 980mAh battery and offers up to 35 days of battery life under typical use. The watch became available on June 18.

The regular price of the Shadow Black version is $286, while the Twilight Brown version costs $310.

The leather version costs an additional $22.
