The Directorate of Passports and Immigration has completed a review of its passport processing system, covering all stages from application submission to issuance, as part of efforts to modernize services.
The review was conducted in consultation with IT experts and finalized ahead of planned upgrades to improve efficiency, transparency, and service delivery.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa, where reforms focused on digital transformation were approved. The meeting decided to establish digital complaint centres to ensure quicker resolution of public grievances.
Officials said a new mobile application will also be introduced to allow citizens to submit complaints and queries online. The initiative is expected to reduce reliance on manual processes and improve access to services.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa said the department is working to enhance public service through technology and plans to introduce 24-hour digital services.
