Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide could arrive at a lower starting price than the current Galaxy Z Fold 7, according to a new leak revealing the expected European pricing for the company’s next foldable lineup.
While most of Samsung’s upcoming devices are expected to see price increases, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide appears to be the exception. The device is tipped to start at €1,999 with 256GB of storage, making it €100 cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which launched at €2,099 for the same storage configuration.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is also expected to be available in 512GB and 1TB storage variants, priced at €2,199 and €2,599, respectively.
Samsung is widely expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and new Galaxy Watch models during its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22.
While the Fold 8 Wide may offer a lower entry price, the premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to become more expensive than its predecessor.
According to the leaked pricing, the Fold 8 Ultra will start at €2,199 for the 256GB model, which is €100 more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The 512GB version is expected to cost €2,399, representing a €180 increase, while the 1TB model could be priced at €2,799, or €280 more than the comparable Fold 7 variant.
The leaked pricing suggests Samsung will also raise prices for the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
The foldable is expected to cost €1,299 with 256GB of storage and €1,499 for the 512GB version. These represent increases of €100 and €180, respectively, compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Samsung’s upcoming smartwatches are also expected to launch at higher prices.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 with LTE is tipped to cost €749, which is €50 more than the original Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Meanwhile, the 40mm Galaxy Watch 9 is expected to start at €409, representing a €40 increase over the Galaxy Watch 8. The 44mm version is expected to start at €459, while LTE connectivity will reportedly add €30 to the price of either model.
