The Ministry of Religious Affairs has finalized the procedure for receiving applications and payments under Pakistan’s government Hajj scheme for 2027.
According to ministry sources, applications under the government Hajj scheme are expected to open in the third week of August. Overseas Pakistanis will also be eligible to apply under the scheme.
The ministry has decided that Hajj expenses will be collected in two equal installments. Pilgrims will be required to pay half of the total cost with the first installment, while the remaining amount will be collected through the second installment.
Sources said the government will stop accepting further applications once the allocated quota is filled.
Pakistan’s total Hajj quota for 2027 has been set at 179,210 pilgrims.
Of the total quota, 60% has been allocated to the government Hajj scheme, while the remaining 40% will be available to private Hajj operators.
The finalized payment mechanism is aimed at allowing successful applicants to spread the financial burden of Hajj expenses across two payments instead of paying the entire amount at once.
Further details regarding the application process, payment dates and Hajj package costs are expected to be announced by the Ministry of Religious Affairs ahead of the opening of applications.
