Pakistan Customs Enforcement has seized smuggled goods and non-duty-paid vehicles worth Rs. 1.163 billion during intelligence-based anti-smuggling operations conducted over the past two weeks.
According to Pakistan Customs, authorities recovered 6,330 kilograms of cellulose acetate tow that had allegedly been imported through fraudulent customs declarations.
In another operation, officials intercepted a Bedford truck carrying 4,052 kilograms of men’s and women’s fabric. Customs also confiscated 7,380 sleeves of cigarettes and 1,100 kilograms of gutka during separate enforcement actions.
In Thakot, Hazara, officials seized a large consignment of imported food and beverage products from an Isuzu truck after determining that the goods were non-duty-paid.
The crackdown also led to the confiscation of three luxury non-duty-paid vehicles with a combined estimated value of around Rs. 25.5 million.
Pakistan Customs said the operations reflect its zero-tolerance policy against smuggling and its commitment to protecting government revenue, supporting legitimate trade, and curbing the illegal movement of goods.
