The sea breeze returned to Karachi on Saturday, providing much-needed relief after several days of intense heat and high humidity.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), southwesterly winds are blowing across the city at a speed of around 20 kilometers per hour, with stronger gusts expected during the day. The Met Office has forecast partly cloudy weather for the metropolis.

Despite the return of the sea breeze, weather conditions are expected to remain hot and humid. Humidity levels have been recorded at 72 percent, increasing the heat index and making temperatures feel higher than actual readings.

Officials said the maximum temperature is likely to remain between 35°C and 37°C. However, the flow of cool and moist air from the Arabian Sea is expected to reduce discomfort and improve overall weather conditions.

The sea breeze plays a crucial role in regulating Karachi’s coastal climate. Its temporary suspension in recent days contributed to a sharp rise in temperatures and humidity, worsening conditions across the city.

Health experts have advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and take necessary precautions during peak afternoon hours.

The return of the sea breeze is expected to bring a more comfortable atmosphere to Karachi, although authorities continue to urge caution as hot and humid conditions persist.
