A four-year-old boy, Muhammad Yaseen, died at Mayo Hospital after complications from a stray dog bite, officials said.

Sources said a stray dog bit the child about a month ago. His family said doctors administered timely vaccination, but his condition worsened after he developed rabies.

Doctors placed the child in intensive care and later shifted him to a ventilator when his health deteriorated further. Despite treatment, he could not survive.

Hospital sources said the death was the second rabies-related case reported at Mayo Hospital within a few days.

Following the incident, residents urged authorities to take urgent action against stray dogs and strengthen preventive measures to avoid such tragedies.
