A joint operation against illegal encroachments was carried out in the Tarnol area of Islamabad by the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
During the operation, several unauthorized constructions and encroachments were removed in an effort to clear public spaces and restore traffic flow.
According to officials, the operation targeted illegal structures and obstructions placed along roadsides. Goods and materials occupying public roads were removed, while heavy machinery was used to demolish unauthorized shops, roadside platforms, and other encroachments established around the area.
Machinery belonging to the CDA Enforcement Directorate and CDA MPO Directorate was utilized during the anti-encroachment drive. Officials from the CDA, police, and district administration remained present on-site throughout the operation to supervise activities and maintain order.
Authorities stated that the illegal encroachments had been causing serious disruptions to traffic movement and creating difficulties for commuters and residents. The removal of obstacles was aimed at improving accessibility and ensuring smoother transportation in the area.
Additional personnel from the district administration and law enforcement agencies also participated in the operation to prevent any untoward incidents.
Relevant authorities reiterated that illegal occupation of government land would not be tolerated under any circumstances and confirmed that anti-encroachment operations would continue across the city.
