Domestic airfares across Pakistan have decreased following a recent decline in international jet fuel prices, providing some relief to travelers on key routes.
According to aviation industry sources, airlines have revised their pricing structures, with the one-way fare from Islamabad to Quetta now ranging between Rs16,770 and Rs48,890.
Passengers flying from Lahore to Quetta will pay between Rs12,020 and Rs44,140, while the Karachi–Quetta route now costs between Rs13,603 and Rs44,000.
Despite the drop in base fares, passengers must still pay an average fuel surcharge of Rs7,840 along with applicable government taxes.
Once these mandatory fees are added, the final cost for a standard one-way domestic ticket typically exceeds Rs26,000.
Industry experts warned that while base rates have dropped, prices remain subject to high demand.
During peak seasons or for last-minute bookings, one-way fares can still climb as high as Rs58,875, particularly on high-demand routes like Quetta–Islamabad and Karachi–Islamabad.
Airlines adjusted the fares to pass on savings from reduced operating costs to passengers, though the final ticket price remains influenced by heavy taxation and fluctuations in demand.
