A major cleanup operation at Karachi Port has recovered more than 16,000 kilograms of waste, highlighting efforts to improve marine environmental standards.
Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a clean and sustainable maritime environment, stating that pollution-free ports are essential for safe navigation.

The campaign involved 54 boats and 164 personnel, working in multiple shifts to complete the cleanup successfully.
Authorities confirmed that all collected waste was disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations, ensuring minimal impact on marine ecosystems.
The minister announced plans to introduce modern waste collection equipment and advanced monitoring systems at ports to further strengthen cleanliness efforts.
He also appreciated the role of Admiral Shahid Ahmed for leading the initiative, calling it a significant step toward sustainable maritime development.
With increasing trade activity at Karachi Port, officials stressed that continuous cleaning and environmental management are essential to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards.
