Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Projector 5 and Redmi Projector 5 Pro in China.
Both models offer a native 1080p resolution, support projection sizes of up to 120 inches, and include integrated gimbal stands for projecting onto walls or ceilings. They also feature sealed optical engines, automatic image adjustment, wireless screen casting, and Xiaomi HyperConnect support.
The standard Redmi Projector 5 costs about $148, while the Redmi Projector 5 Pro costs approximately $281 in China.
The Redmi Projector 5 features a textured white chassis and an integrated metal gimbal stand with 360-degree tilt adjustment.
Its custom sealed optical engine helps prevent dust from entering internal components. This design is intended to improve durability and reduce maintenance requirements.
The projector has a 1.2:1 throw ratio and produces 400 CVIA lumens of brightness. It also carries SGS Low Blue Light certification to help reduce eye strain during extended viewing.
Xiaomi has equipped the projector with a Time-of-Flight laser sensing module.
The system supports automatic focus and keystone correction, allowing the projector to adjust the image after users move it. It also supports up to 20 degrees of side projection for more flexible positioning.
The Redmi Projector 5 uses a MediaTek MT9-series processor with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
It comes with a Bluetooth voice remote that supports voice search and playback controls.
Connectivity features include dual-band Wi-Fi, wireless screen casting from smartphones and computers, and multiple ports for external devices.
The projector also works with Xiaomi HyperConnect. Users can connect it with compatible Xiaomi smart home products, including lights and curtains, to create automated routines.
The Redmi Projector 5 Pro increases brightness to 1,000 CVIA lumens and adds HDR10 support for improved contrast management.
It combines its sealed optical engine with an all-glass lens system. Xiaomi says the closed design prevents internal dust buildup and improves image sharpness by 10 percent compared with the previous generation.
The Pro model also adds a 120Hz refresh rate, 5ms latency and MEMC motion compensation. These features reduce motion blur and judder during fast-moving videos, sports broadcasts and games.
Its white-and-grey exterior includes a fabric-covered front panel. The integrated gimbal offers up to 150 degrees of vertical adjustment, while side projection correction increases from 20 degrees to 30 degrees.
For automatic setup, the Pro model combines a ToF sensor, a high-definition camera and AI algorithms. The system handles autofocus, keystone correction, obstacle avoidance and screen alignment without manual adjustments.
It also supports wall color adaptation, which adjusts image colours and brightness based on the projection surface.
The Redmi Projector 5 Pro uses a MediaTek MT9660 chipset with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
Its internal and external dual-circulation cooling system keeps operating noise at 28dB(A).
The audio system includes two 10W speakers, a passive bass radiator, and a digital amplifier. It also supports Dolby Audio.
The Pro version includes two HDMI ports. One is an HDMI eARC port based on the HDMI 2.1 standard, supporting 4K signal input and 1080p output at 120Hz.
It also provides one USB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Wireless connectivity is upgraded to dual-band Wi-Fi 6. The projector also supports wireless screen casting, Xiaomi HyperConnect, and the XiaoAI voice assistant for media controls and smart home interaction.
