The Punjab government has included several villages in Rawalpindi Division in the Model Village Project to improve basic infrastructure in rural areas.

Villages in Kallar Syedan, Gujar Khan, Kahuta, and surrounding areas will receive upgraded facilities, including clean drinking water, street lighting, paved roads, drainage systems, improved children’s parks, and wastewater treatment infrastructure.

The development projects will be carried out through the Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company, with a total allocation exceeding Rs. 2.42 billion.

The initiative was launched by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to ensure the delivery of high-quality infrastructure in rural communities across the province.

According to official details, the selected villages in Rawalpindi Division include Changa Bangial (Gujar Khan), Salamabad (Kallar Syedan), Jawa village in Union Council Jawa (Kahuta), Lehtrar Bala and Santh Anwali Kohati (Kotli Sattian), as well as Sultani Dhoke, Chak Baqar Shah, Khokhar Zar, Dhoke Daraz Dhakali, Sadwal Langa Bhain, Bilalabad, Waryal, Niragi, Jand Awan, and Basharat village.

Sources confirmed that tenders for the projects have already been issued. The total estimated cost of the development work stands at Rs. 2.427 billion.

Construction is expected to begin soon after contracts are awarded, with authorities aiming to complete the projects in the shortest possible time.
