Babusar Top, a popular high-altitude tourist destination in northern areas, received unexpected snowfall in May, attracting a large number of tourists as many plain areas across the country continue to face intense heat.

According to reports, snowfall has continued intermittently for the fourth consecutive day at Babusar Top and nearby areas of Naran. The fresh snow has covered the area in white, adding to the natural beauty of the valley.

Lake Lulusar and Babusar Top are offering breathtaking snow-covered views, drawing tourists who have arrived to enjoy the unusual weather and scenic landscape.

Meanwhile, snowfall on the upper mountains of Chilas and Diamer has intensified the cold weather. Local administration officials said the snowfall has created serious difficulties in restoring the Babusar road. They added that ongoing rain may delay the full reopening of the tourist route by another four days.

Heavy rains and landslides have also blocked the Karakoram Highway at several points in Diamer and Kohistan.

Police officials said the highway is currently blocked at Lal Pari in Goharabad, Diamer, and at Chuchang in Upper Kohistan. Several vehicles and passengers have been stranded due to the blockages.

According to the District Disaster Management Authority, heavy machinery has been sent to the affected areas, and work is underway to clear the roads.
