National Resources Limited said its Darigwan Area site in Balochistan came under attack from unidentified assailants on Wednesday evening, prompting a swift response from security forces.
In a statement issued on April 22, the company said the incident took place at around 5:45 pm. It added that security forces, including the Frontier Corps, responded quickly and secured the area.
A clearance and sweep operation is currently underway to ensure the safety of personnel and protect company assets, according to the statement.
NRL said it was closely coordinating with law enforcement authorities and would share further updates as more information becomes available.
The company also said it remained committed to the development and empowerment of local communities in Balochistan, adding that more than 90% of the workforce at the Darigwan site consists of people from the province.
NRL said the safety and security of its employees and operations remained its top priority.
National Resources Limited (NRL) is a Pakistani mining company formed as a joint venture between Lucky Cement, Fatima Fertilizer, and Liberty Mills. The company is actively exploring copper-gold and lead-zinc deposits in Balochistan (Chagai) and has reported significant mineral discoveries, supported by a 33.33% equity stake from Lucky Cement
