Trump Mobile said Wednesday it has started shipping its delayed $499 T1 smartphones to customers.
The gold-plated device was originally scheduled for release in August last year.
The Trump Organization launched Trump Mobile in June last year under a trademark licensing arrangement. The company initially postponed the T1 smartphone launch to October and later delayed it again until this week.
According to Reuters , Trump Mobile CEO Pat O’Brien said the company used the additional time to complete development and testing work to ensure the phone’s components met quality standards.
The website only mentions a few specifications for the phone without many details. This includes a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an unknown Snapdragon chip, and an unnamed Android OS.
The device includes a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP 2x telephoto camera. On the front, the phone includes a 50MP selfie camera. The T1 also packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.
Additional features include a fingerprint sensor and AI Face Unlock support.
