Islamabad Traffic Police issued a special traffic advisory on Thursday for residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi ahead of the Pakistan-Australia ODI series starting May 30, 24News reported.
A police spokesperson stated that temporary traffic diversions will be imposed at different times on Club Road, Murree Road, the Expressway, and Srinagar Highway, which may disrupt normal traffic flow on these routes.
Authorities advised citizens to leave their homes 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual while traveling and to use alternative routes or service roads during diversion periods to avoid inconvenience.
The spokesperson said traffic personnel would be deployed at various points to assist commuters and ensure smooth traffic movement across the capital and adjoining areas.
Residents were urged to stay updated through the Islamabad Traffic Police WhatsApp channel, social media platforms, and FM 92.4 for the latest traffic information.
The advisory comes ahead of the first ODI between the Pakistan national cricket team and Australia, scheduled to be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on May 30, with increased traffic pressure expected in the twin cities.
