The Government of Punjab has reportedly decided to include “Marka-e-Haq” in the province’s educational curriculum as part of efforts to promote patriotism and national unity.
A meeting of the Information Steering Committee was held under the chair of Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari, with senior officials, including Secretary Information Tahir Raza Hamdani, in attendance.
Officials said the committee decided to incorporate themes of patriotism and “Marka-e-Haq” into academic content across schools in the province.
The meeting also noted that such programs were more actively implemented in public schools compared to private institutions, prompting directives for broader enforcement in private schools as well.
The committee also approved plans to produce films under a provincial film fund, focusing on “Marka-e-Haq” and national unity, along with a stage drama on Shaheed Liaqat to be developed under the Alhamra Arts Council.
In addition, a public awareness campaign aimed at promoting national cohesion was also approved.
Participants of the meeting reportedly requested that the DG ISPR continue visits to educational institutions to engage with students.
Ahead of Muharram, authorities were also directed to intensify action against hate speech and inflammatory content.
The minister stated that the Information Department and Home Department will jointly establish a special monitoring cell to identify and take action against individuals spreading hate content online, ensuring the timely dissemination of accurate information to the public.
