Solar panel prices have started declining in Lahore, with rates falling by Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 9,000 for different panel categories, according to market sources.

Traders attribute the decrease to the recent cut in petroleum prices and expect solar equipment to become even cheaper in the coming weeks if fuel prices remain stable.

Industry sources also said battery prices, which had surged due to higher transportation and logistics costs, are likely to come down. They noted that battery prices had previously increased by Rs. 27,000 to Rs. 38,000 per unit during the period of elevated fuel costs.

The expected decline in solar system costs could provide relief to consumers planning to switch to renewable energy amid rising electricity expenses.
