The Sindh College Education Department has announced that all public and private colleges across the province will remain closed on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, on the occasion of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (R.A.). According to an official notification issued on July 31, 2026, the decision was made following the approval of the Steering Committee on Education during its meeting held on February 12, 2026.

The notification states that all educational institutions operating under the administrative control of the College Education Department, Government of Sindh, will observe the holiday on August 4 (20 Safar 1448 AH).

The department has directed the Director General Colleges Sindh, regional directors, and other relevant authorities to circulate the notification among all public and private colleges and ensure its implementation across the province.

The holiday will apply to all colleges under the administrative control of the Sindh College Education Department.
