The for School for Contemporary and Islamic Learning, also known as SCIL, has come under criticism after a parent alleged that its Lahore Defense campus is still requiring students to appear in exams despite the Punjab government’s decision to announce early summer holidays due to the ongoing heatwave.
According to the complaint, students at SCIL’s Defense branch have been asked to sit exams on May 25 even as temperatures remain extremely high.
The parent questioned why children were being made to attend exams in such weather and called for action against the school.
The allegation has sparked concern over whether private institutions are fully implementing the government’s holiday orders, which were announced for public and private schools, colleges, and universities across Punjab in view of the extreme heat.
Parents have been increasingly worried about student safety during the heatwave, particularly for younger children who have to travel and sit in classrooms during the hottest part of the day.
Complaints like this are likely to add to pressure on education authorities to ensure that closure directives are being followed in letter and spirit.
If confirmed, the matter could draw wider criticism toward SCIL, especially at a time when concerns over student wellbeing during severe weather are growing.
