In a major relief for citizens ahead of Eid ul Azha, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Abdul Raheem Shirazi has allowed loader rickshaws carrying sacrificial animals to use Canal Road under certain conditions.

According to the CTO Lahore, the relaxation will remain in place until Eid ul Azha and will apply only to loader rickshaws being used for the transportation of sacrificial animals.

He clarified that action against other loader rickshaws and Qingqi rickshaws will continue as usual.

Abdul Raheem Shirazi said loader rickshaws transporting sacrificial animals must follow traffic laws, adding that action will be taken against drivers who violate lane discipline.

The CTO further said that rickshaws carrying T-iron, bamboo, and other goods will not be allowed to use Canal Road.

He said slow-moving Qingqi and loader rickshaws on Canal Road often cause traffic accidents, which is why special precautionary measures are being taken.
