The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has awarded three year contracts for two parking plazas in Raja Bazar after completing an open auction.
The RDA conducted the auction on the directions of Rawalpindi Commissioner and RDA Director General Salman Ghani. The properties included the parking plaza at Fawara Chowk and another plaza located opposite the Tehsil Office in Rawalpindi.
Director Estate Management RDA Iftikhar Ali chaired the auction committee meeting, which was attended by Director Engineering Komal Chaudhry, Deputy Director Finance Ayesha Badar, Deputy Director Estate Management Abdul Rahman, Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Daud and other officials.
The committee awarded the Fawara Chowk parking plaza contract to Zabiullah for an annual rent of Rs. 64.715 million. Waseela Enterprises secured the contract for the parking plaza opposite the Tehsil Office at an annual rent of Rs. 4.685 million.
The committee reviewed the bids and completed the auction under the prescribed rules and procedures. It also approved a 10 percent annual increase in rent for both parking plazas. The two facilities serve busy areas of Raja Bazar and provide parking space for citizens, shopkeepers, visitors and commuters.
The RDA said it would continue to focus on transparency, accountability and efficient management of its assets while improving property utilisation and increasing revenue in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
