The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has directed all public and private sector universities across the province to observe Youm-e-Istehsal (Kashmir) on August 5, 2026, and organize a range of activities to mark the occasion.
In a reminder issued on July 31, the commission asked university registrars to implement the directions issued by the Higher Education Department, Government of Punjab, regarding the observance of the day.
According to the notification, universities should organize activities including a one minute silence at 9:00 a.m., awareness seminars, speech and declamation competitions, essay writing competitions, and debates on themes related to Youm-e-Istehsal (Kashmir).
The PHEC also instructed universities to ensure the active participation of students, faculty members, and staff while giving appropriate publicity to the observance through official channels.
The commission asked universities to submit a brief report along with photographs of the activities conducted by August 10, 2026, to the designated PHEC email addresses.
