The Punjab government achieved 103 percent of its cleanliness and security target on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha, setting a new benchmark in public service operations across the province.

Under the “Suthra Punjab” program and in collaboration with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, authorities carried out a large-scale sanitation and security operation.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif personally monitored the ongoing operation digitally throughout the day.

All commissioners, deputy commissioners, and assistant commissioners remained active in the field despite extreme heat, while Safe City cameras and drone technology monitored Eid congregations, sacrificial sites, and densely populated areas.

Officials said special cleaning operations began on Chand Raat, covering mosques, Eid grounds, and major roads. Authorities also used rose water to fragrance places of worship.

Using Safe City drone cameras, officials identified animal waste in narrow streets and markets, enabling sanitation teams to quickly remove it and transfer it to collection points.

According to the Punjab government, sanitation teams collected more than 120,000 tons of waste on the first day of Eid al-Adha. Suthra Punjab teams also covered over 1.881 million square kilometers across the province.

Authorities washed and cleaned more than 1,000 kilometers of roads and completed clean-up operations at over 1,200 sacrificial sites.

Citizens praised the successful cleanliness and security arrangements and appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her team.
