The School Education Department has decided to tighten enforcement measures to ensure the registration of private schools across the province, issuing directives for legal action and fines against unregistered institutions.
A special letter has been sent to all deputy commissioners and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) Education, directing them to provide complete details of registered and unregistered schools in their respective districts.
The department has instructed authorities to submit a full compliance report within seven days. Officials have also been asked to provide details of recoveries made from unregistered schools.
According to the department, building fitness certificates have now been made mandatory for both public and private schools to ensure student safety and compliance with safety standards in educational institutions.
All schools have been directed to obtain building fitness certificates from the Communication and Works (C&W) Department.
The School Education Department said strict implementation of school safety, registration, and other regulatory requirements would be ensured, warning that institutions violating the rules would face action.
