The Punjab School Education Department has issued instructions to schools across the province to ensure student safety at the time of school closing, directing strict monitoring to prevent any child from being left unattended on campus.

According to the notification, school heads have been instructed to ensure that all areas, including classrooms, washrooms, laboratories, libraries, playgrounds and other spaces, are thoroughly checked at closing time to confirm that no student remains within the premises.

The department has also directed that a dedicated teacher or staff member be assigned daily on a rotation basis to oversee student departure and verify that all students have safely left for their homes.

The assigned staff member will not be allowed to leave the school until it is confirmed that all students have departed, while heads of institutions will be held personally responsible for ensuring compliance with these instructions.

Authorities have ordered immediate implementation of the directive across both public and private schools, warning that any negligence will be taken seriously, and compliance reports must be submitted within 24 hours.
