Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Engineer Amir Khattak has directed authorities to construct water tanks along the Ring Road to support the project and facilitate public use, including by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA).
During a meeting to review progress on the Rawalpindi Ring Road, the commissioner also said a proposal is under consideration to introduce a dedicated policing system, including a separate traffic police force to manage traffic flow.
He said delays in the project are being caused by disruptions in the supply of construction materials and rising water levels, stressing the need for coordinated efforts to address these issues.
The meeting also reviewed pending payments related to land acquisition, with the commissioner directing that letters be issued to deputy commissioners for immediate clearance of dues.
Khattak said the 38-kilometre project will help address traffic congestion in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, adding that 85 percent of the overall work has been completed.
Officials informed the meeting that work on the Railway Bridge and Maira Mohra Interchange is 99 percent complete, while the Nala Bridge has reached 97 percent completion.
