The Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA) has clarified that the discontinuation of the old ticketing system applies only to Metrobus, Speedo, and Electric Bus (EV Bus) services.

In a public clarification issued on Thursday, the authority said there has been no change to the Orange Line Metro Train ticketing system. The PMA explained that passengers using the Metrobus, Speedo, and EV Bus services must now use the T-Cash Card or the eTransit App, which have replaced the previous ticketing system for these services.

However, the authority emphasized that the Orange Line Metro Train continues to operate under its existing ticketing system, dismissing reports suggesting otherwise.

The PMA also urged media organizations, journalists, digital platforms, and the public to avoid sharing unverified information regarding the Orange Line Metro Train’s ticketing system.

It added that any future changes to the Orange Line Metro Train ticketing system, if approved, will be announced only through the Punjab Masstransit Authority’s official platforms. The clarification comes amid confusion over the implementation of the new digital ticketing system across public transport services in Punjab.
