Pakistan Railways has suspended the premium Shalimar Express for one month after floodwater damaged the railway bridge at Qila Sattar Shah Musan Kallar.
The train, which runs between Lahore and Karachi via Faisalabad, will remain out of service as railway operations between Lahore and Faisalabad have been halted due to the damage.
Railway authorities said the suspension is necessary until the affected bridge is restored and train safety is ensured.
The move has disrupted travel plans for passengers using one of the major intercity rail services on the route.
