The Punjab Education Curriculum and Training Authority (PECTA) has launched a Google ID Teacher Training Program to improve teachers’ IT and digital learning skills across Punjab.
Under the initiative, selected teachers from different districts will receive training in modern educational technology through four-day workshops in Lahore and Islamabad. The training sessions will begin on June 2.
According to officials, the first batch of workshops will take place from June 2 to June 5 at PECTA Headquarters, Lahore, and PECTA Islamabad.
In the first phase, 34 master trainers in Lahore and 32 in Islamabad will receive specialised training in digital teaching methods.
The second batch of training will be held from June 9 to June 12 at PECTA Lahore, where another 34 master trainers will participate.
PECTA has directed all CEOs and district education authorities to ensure the participation of selected teachers. Authorities have also issued formal instructions for relieving master trainers to attend the program.
Sources said teacher nominations from various districts have been finalised, while computer labs and internet facilities will be available throughout the training sessions.
PECTA officials stated that the program aims to enhance teachers’ digital skills, align them with modern educational requirements, and improve overall teaching standards in schools.
