The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the commentary panel for the National Champions Cup 2026, which will be held at the Multan Cricket Stadium from August 11 to 18.
According to a PCB, the five-member commentary panel includes former Pakistan captain Salman Butt, Ali Younis, Tariq Saeed, Aimen Anwar and Raja Asad.
The National Champions Cup will feature four teams competing in a single round-robin format. Pakistan Greens, Pakistan Whites, Pakistan Blues and Pakistan Gold will each face the other teams once during the league stage.
The top two teams in the standings will qualify for the final, which is scheduled for August 18.
The four teams will be captained by Shadab Khan, Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan and Shaheen Shah Afridi, respectively.
The tournament will play an important role in the PCB’s preparations for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, with several established international players and emerging cricketers set to take part.
The PCB has selected 44 players across the four squads and has also formed a 13-player reserve pool.
Reserve players will only be allowed to replace members of the playing squads in the event of an injury or concussion during the tournament.
The competition will give the national selectors an opportunity to closely monitor players and assess emerging talent ahead of the 2027 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
