The difficult run continued in South Africa during the 2024-25 season. Pakistan suffered a narrow two-wicket defeat in Centurion before losing the second Test in Cape Town by 10 wickets.

Any hopes of a recovery were ended during Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh in May 2026. The team lost by 104 runs in Dhaka and by 78 runs in Sylhet.

Pakistan’s unwanted record was confirmed in Trinidad after they failed to chase a modest target of 211 against the West Indies. The visitors were bowled out for 120 in their second innings.

Returning captain Babar Azam fought a lone battle and remained unbeaten on 58 from 107 deliveries. His innings included nine boundaries, while Mohammad Abbas contributed 23 runs.

West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales delivered a match-winning performance, taking five wickets for just 20 runs and dismantling Pakistan’s batting lineup.

Kemar Roach and Justin Greaves claimed two wickets each, while Shamar Joseph took one wicket as the hosts completed a commanding 90-run victory.
