Pakistan red-ball bowling coach Umar Gul has addressed the discussion surrounding a viral video involving him and Shaheen Afridi during the second Test against Bangladesh at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
The video spread widely on social media, with some users claiming that Shaheen had disrespected Gul. However, there was no verified evidence of the conversation, which led to misunderstanding and speculation online.

Gul clarified that there was no internal dispute within the Pakistan squad. He explained that Hasan Ali had suffered a head injury and was temporarily off the field. Shaheen Afridi was only being informed about the situation as part of routine team communication.
“There was also a misunderstanding on social media regarding Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali. Hasan Ali had suffered a head injury and was off the field, and Shaheen was simply informed about the situation. There is no issue, but it was misinterpreted online,” Gul stated.
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh set Pakistan a target of 437 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim led the innings with a strong 137 off 233 balls, hitting 12 fours and one six. Litton Das added 69 off 92 deliveries, while Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored 52 off 64 balls.
Pakistan made a steady start to the chase but later lost both openers. By lunch on day four, Pakistan had reached 101-2 and still required 336 runs, with Shan Masood and Babar Azam trying to stabilize the innings.
