A long-awaited train service between Sukkur and Pano Aqil is expected to begin operations within the next few weeks, while an additional e-coaster transport service will also be introduced between the two cities.

The announcement was made by Sukkur District Council Chairman Syed Kumail Hyder Shah during a visit to Sukkur Railway Station, where he reviewed arrangements for the launch of the new “Ho Jamalo” train service.

According to officials, the train will depart from the Rohri locoshed and operate between Rohri and Shikarpur, stopping at several railway stations along the route.

Speaking to journalists, Syed Kumail Hyder Shah said a VIP lounge was also being constructed at Sukkur Railway Station for passengers and their families. He further announced that students would be allowed to travel free of charge on the train for six months after the launch of the service.

Shah said authorities expected to start operations around Muharram, adding that Pakistan Railways and the Sukkur District Council had been jointly working on the project for nearly a year and preparations had now entered the final phase.

During the visit, Pakistan Railways Divisional Superintendent Sukkur Farman Ghani and other officials briefed him on the progress of the operational plan. Responding to questions from reporters, Shah said authorities would not allow the train’s coaches to be changed and were in continuous contact with railway officials regarding the matter.

He also announced plans to launch a low-cost motorbike service along with a dedicated mobile application named “Phia” to help students travel easily to and from educational institutions.
