Opensignal has released its first-ever fixed broadband analysis for Pakistan, ranking internet providers based on their performance across several metrics.
Nayatel emerged as the top-performing provider in the report, winning multiple categories and securing the overall Best Home Internet award.
However, the report remains incomplete and not fully conclusive. The rankings do not include several major internet service providers such as Transworld, Fiberlink, and others. In addition, the report does not distinguish between PTCL’s Flash Fiber service and its legacy copper-based connections, which may affect the accuracy of performance comparisons.
Instead, it covers only four providers, Connect, Nayatel, PTCL, and StormFiber, over a 90-day period starting January 1, 2026.
The report analyzes real-world data from Pakistani fixed broadband users and evaluates performance across five key metrics: Consistent Quality, Download Speed, Upload Speed, Video Experience, and Reliability Experience.
Nayatel recorded the fastest speeds among all providers, winning both Download Speed and Upload Speed awards with scores of 21.4 Mbps and 14.2 Mbps, respectively. PTCL ranked second in Download Speed, while Connect placed as runner-up in Upload Speed.
The company also led in Reliability Experience, scoring 330 points on Opensignal’s 100–1000 scale. This metric reflects how consistently users can connect to the internet and complete tasks such as streaming video or browsing, covering the full experience from connection to task completion. PTCL and Connect followed behind Nayatel in this category.
In terms of Consistent Quality, Nayatel again ranked first with a score of 53.1%. This metric measures the percentage of user tests that meet minimum performance thresholds for activities such as HD video streaming, video conferencing, and online gaming. Nayatel’s score placed it nearly 10 percentage points ahead of Connect.
Based on its performance across these categories, Nayatel was awarded the Best Home Internet title, recognizing its overall user experience across key metrics nationwide.
Despite these results, the absence of several major ISPs and the lack of differentiation within PTCL’s network offerings mean the report does not present a complete picture of Pakistan’s broadband landscape. As a result, while Nayatel leads in this dataset, the findings should be viewed with caution when comparing the broader market.
