The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a public advisory for overseas Pakistanis, categorically stating that it has no authorized consultants, agents, or dealers for processing identity documents or handling online applications on its behalf. The authority has urged citizens living abroad to use only official NADRA platforms to avoid fraud, financial loss, and potential misuse of personal data.
In a message shared on social media, NADRA clarified that no private individual, firm, or third-party service provider anywhere in the world has been authorized to accept applications, collect payments, or process computerized identity documents for Pakistanis. The advisory specifically targets overseas Pakistanis who often rely on intermediaries to manage documentation and identity card services from abroad.
NADRA reminded applicants that all its online services are available directly through official digital platforms, including the Pak Identity online portal and mobile application, which allow users to apply for CNIC, NICOP and other identity documents from the comfort of their homes.
The latest warning comes against the backdrop of repeated attempts by fake websites and social media pages to pose as NADRA or its contracted partners to target overseas Pakistanis.
In recent months, NADRA has flagged fraudulent platforms, including UK-based websites falsely branding themselves as “NADRA Card Center” and offering ID card and NICOP processing and even “job opportunities” in NADRA, despite having no affiliation with the authority.
According to previous statements by NADRA officials, such websites and pages can misuse personal data, documents and online payments, exposing applicants to identity theft, financial scams and other cybercrime. The authority has also reported some of these cases to relevant cybercrime agencies for investigation and action.
NADRA has reiterated that overseas Pakistanis should submit their applications only via its official website, Pak Identity portal and mobile application, or by visiting NADRA desks and counters established at Pakistan’s embassies and consulates abroad. The authority has also advised citizens to verify any NADRA-related information through its official website and customer service helplines, instead of relying on unverified social media posts or third-party advertisements.
Customer support is available through NADRA’s call center and dedicated email channels, where applicants can seek guidance on documentation requirements, application status and complaint resolution without paying any middleman.
