The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) conducted an operation in Al-Haram City, Islamabad to remove illegal occupation from plots belonging to allottees after receiving complaints from affected owners.
According to NAB, the action was carried out on the instructions of Director General Islamabad/Rawalpindi Region Waqar Chohan in coordination with local revenue officials and Rawalpindi Cantonment Police.
Officials said the identified plots were cleared during the operation while law and order was maintained throughout the process.
The land was allegedly under illegal occupation linked to another private housing scheme, even though it had already been allocated to plot owners in Al-Haram City.
NAB said around 200 kanals of valuable land had remained under illegal occupation, depriving nearly 300 allottees of possession of their plots. It added that relief is being provided to the affected owners in phases.
Following on-site verification, authorities have started the process needed to hand over the vacated plots to their rightful owners.
The Al-Haram City administration has been directed to level the affected land and transfer possession to the allottees within one week.
NAB said the operation was part of its broader efforts to tackle irregularities and illegal occupation in the housing sector, protect citizens’ rights and help restore public confidence.
The housing scheme’s administration has also been instructed to complete the process within the given timeframe and submit a report to ensure timely transfer of possession.
