Mohammad Amir delivered a match-winning spell as Trent Rockets defeated Sunrisers Leeds by five runs to remain at the top of The Hundred 2026 standings.
The left-arm pacer finished with figures of 2/20 and dismissed Mitchell Marsh and Harry Brook at a crucial stage of the chase. Aneurin Donald had earlier provided the attacking spark for the Rockets with a rapid 40 from just 19 deliveries.
After opting to bat first, Trent Rockets lost Finn Allen early, but Donald and Ben Duckett quickly changed the momentum with a 63-run partnership from 35 balls.
Donald attacked Matthew Potts with three consecutive boundaries, while Duckett continued the charge by hitting Patterson-White for five boundaries in a row.
The Rockets, however, were unable to fully capitalize on their strong start. Sam Billings and Tim David struggled to accelerate in the closing stages as Brydon Carse, Abrar Ahmed and Nathan Ellis bowled tightly at the death.
Trent Rockets eventually finished with 146/4.
Sunrisers Leeds suffered an early blow in the chase when Ryan Rickelton was dismissed for a duck. Mitchell Marsh and Zak Crawley then steadied the innings, with Marsh rotating the strike and Crawley taking the attacking role.
Crawley struck Mitchell Santner for three boundaries before being bowled by the spinner for 26.
Harry Brook kept Sunrisers in control with an aggressive knock, particularly against Lewis Gregory, but Amir turned the contest by removing both Brook and Marsh in quick succession.
Sunrisers required 24 runs from the final 10 balls, but Tom Alsop and Dan Lawrence could only score 18.
Matt Henry, Gregory and Amir held their nerve in the final stages as Trent Rockets completed a hard-fought five-run victory.
