Authorities have introduced key measures to ensure transparency in matric practical examinations, including a strict ban on practical record books purchased from the market or prepared by someone else.

Muzammil Mahmood, Chairman of the Task Force on Examinations, has directed that only those candidates will receive marks who prepare their practical copies themselves.

He said examiners will verify each practical notebook against the candidate’s own handwriting to discourage cheating and the use of fake or pre-written practical books.

According to the new instructions, every candidate’s practical notebook will be torn after it has been checked so that it cannot be reused.

The chairman also made it clear that strict action will be taken against those responsible if the directives are not implemented.

The move is aimed at strengthening the credibility of practical exams and closing loopholes that have long allowed students to submit purchased or duplicated record books instead of their own work.
