Authorities in Islamabad have decided to launch a large-scale operation against illegal encroachments and unauthorized settlements across the federal capital.
According to sources, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), district administration, and police have jointly prepared an operational framework and submitted it to the Ministry of Interior for approval.
Sources said the grand operation will formally begin after receiving clearance from the Federal Interior Minister. Officials have already identified several illegal constructions and encroachments in different parts of the city as part of the preliminary phase of the campaign.
The operation is expected to involve multiple law enforcement and security agencies, including Islamabad Police, CDA Enforcement teams, Frontier Corps (FC), and Rangers.
Authorities aim to ensure coordinated action during the drive to remove unlawful occupations and structures.
In the first phase, several informal settlements located in different sectors of the city will be cleared. Sources stated that operations are planned in G-7, I-9, Mehrabadi, and other katchi abadis identified by the administration. Residents occupying land illegally will be issued notices over the next month.
Officials said the notices will direct occupants to vacate the settlements voluntarily within the given deadline. If the areas are not cleared despite repeated warnings, authorities will proceed with a full-scale operation using heavy machinery to demolish illegal structures and remove encroachments.
