Lahore Police have arrested four of their own officials after allegations surfaced that they worked with transgender accomplices to lure and rob a citizen in Kot Lakhpat.
According to police, two transgender suspects allegedly trapped a resident of Kasur and called him to a flat in Lahore. Once he arrived there, the man was allegedly assaulted by their accomplices and robbed of Rs. 40,000 in cash.
Police said four policemen also reached the flat during the incident and allegedly threatened the victim before taking a copy of his identity card and Rs. 11,000 in cash.
A case has now been registered, and four constables Waqar, Suleman, Umair, and Irfan have been arrested.
Police said raids are under way to arrest the five nominated transgender suspects named in the case.
Authorities are expected to widen the investigation to determine how the officials were linked to the alleged honey trap and robbery.
