The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore has introduced an automated system for practical examinations for the first time, marking a major step toward transparency and digitization in the education sector.

The initiative has been implemented under the directives of Maryam Nawaz Sharif to modernize the province’s education system.

Under the new system, the assignment of examiners for practical exams is now fully computerized, eliminating manual intervention.

Officials said the automation will help end the culture of favoritism, as no examiner will be able to influence their posting to preferred centers.

The move aims to ensure merit-based deployment and improve the credibility of the examination process.

Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat directed authorities to ensure complete transparency in examinations.

In line with this, the Lahore Board has also shifted all practical exams to a centralized marking system, with preparations already finalized.

The Controller of Examinations stated that removing human interference is key to maintaining fairness, adding that merit and transparency remain the board’s top priorities.

The development reflects the Punjab government’s broader push to digitize public services and strengthen trust in academic assessments.
